A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Alaska in the United States on Friday (August 6). The tremor was felt at around 8:50pm local time in a remote area of Southcentral Alaska.
The Alaska Earthquake Center said the epicentre was about 43 miles northwest of Skwentna and 107 miles northwest of Anchorage, at a depth of around 6.2 miles.
The US Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami warning, advisory or threat following the earthquake.
