Nineteen defendants, including 12 former ministers and state ministers, and two advisors to the former prime minister, arrested on charges of genocide during the anti-discrimination student movement in July-August, have been presented before the International Crimes Tribunal.
They were brought to the tribunal one by one in several prison vans after 10 am on Sunday (April 20).The hearing is scheduled to be held by a three-member judicial panel of the International Crimes Tribunal, led by the tribunal's chairman, Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder.
The other two members of the tribunal are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.

Among the accused who appeared are former ministers of the previous Awami League government Dipu Moni, Shajahan Khan, JSD president Hasanul Haque Inu, former Appellate Division judge AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, former state minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, Kamal Ahmed Majumder and others.
