Pakistan Army Chief Concludes Talks in Iran on War and Strait of Hormuz

Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has concluded talks in Iran on efforts to end the ongoing war between Iran and the United States and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

During a one-day visit to Tehran, Munir met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other senior officials. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also accompanied him.

According to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions focused on preventing further escalation in the region and exploring possible ways to resolve the conflict through dialogue.

Particular emphasis was placed on ending the Iran-US war and reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments.

Iranian officials welcomed Pakistan’s mediation efforts and expressed a positive stance toward advancing dialogue as a way to help resolve the conflict.
