Brazil Shows Interest in Playing Match in Bangladesh

The possibility of Brazil’s national football team playing in Bangladesh has gained fresh momentum. On Sunday (August 23), a five-member delegation from the Brazilian Football Confederation inspected the National Stadium in Dhaka.

The delegation spent around 45 minutes at the stadium, examining the pitch, dressing rooms, stands, water supply and drainage systems. BFF Ground Committee Chairman Iqbal Hossain accompanied them during the visit.

After the inspection, Iqbal Hossain said the Brazilian delegation had expressed interest in using the National Stadium as a neutral venue for a future match. They also discussed the possibility of playing against Bangladesh.

However, Brazil’s visit to Bangladesh has not been confirmed yet. The delegation’s main purpose was to assess the stadium’s facilities. The BFF informed them that the ongoing pitch preparation could take another two weeks.

Brazil are scheduled to play a friendly against India in Kolkata on October 3. The delegation had also inspected the venue for that match before visiting Dhaka.

Bangladesh will now wait for Brazil’s final decision on whether the National Stadium could host a future match involving the five-time world champions.
