51 Attacks Reported Overnight in Thailand, 12 Areas Hit

A total of 51 attacks were reported overnight across three southern border provinces of Thailand. The attacks took place in 12 areas of Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala from around 8 p.m. on Saturday (August 22), with improvised explosive devices reportedly used in some incidents.

Thai security authorities said the attacks appeared to have targeted government officials, civilians and key infrastructure. Narathiwat recorded the highest number of incidents with 22 attacks, followed by Yala with 18 and Pattani with 11.

Two people were injured in Narathiwat, while no civilian casualties were reported in Pattani or Yala.

Security forces have been deployed across the affected areas to secure the locations, assist residents and collect evidence. Authorities have urged residents to remain alert and avoid areas where attacks occurred.

People have also been advised not to touch suspicious objects and to immediately inform security forces if they notice any suspicious person, vehicle or object.
