Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday (August 23) formally inaugurated the Naval and Air Force Selection Board 2026 at the Air Force Headquarters. He attended the ceremony as the chief guest and officially opened the board.
Eligible officers of the Bangladesh Navy holding the ranks of captain, commander and lieutenant commander, along with Air Force officers at the ranks of group captain, wing commander and squadron leader, will be considered for their next promotions through the board.
Before the board proceedings began, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman pinned the admiral rank badge on Navy Chief Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim.
The prime minister stressed that promotions should be based on professional competence, leadership qualities, discipline and foresight, free from political ideology and personal preferences. He later inspected several key operational installations of the Air Force.
