Rain Possible in Dhaka, Heat Likely to Persist

Dhaka’s sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy today, Sunday (August 23). Light rain or thundershowers are also possible. However, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the heat is unlikely to ease significantly despite the rain.

According to the weather forecast issued for Dhaka and its adjoining areas from 7am for the next six hours, light rain or thundershowers may occur during the period. Winds may blow from the south and southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.

At 6am, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity at 91 percent. The highest temperature in Dhaka on Saturday was 35.5 degrees Celsius. The city received 4 millimetres of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

The weather forecast says light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur in several parts of the country. Some areas may also experience moderately heavy to heavy rainfall. Temperatures across the country may fall slightly due to the rain.
