Five Days of Rain Ahead, Heavy Downpours Likely

Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet and several other parts of Bangladesh may experience rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds for five consecutive days. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also likely in some areas.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s 120-hour forecast, the rainy conditions may continue from Wednesday (August 19) through Sunday (August 23). The chances of rain will be relatively higher in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Rainfall may spread to more areas from Thursday (August 20). Moderate to heavy rainfall is possible in several regions on Friday (August 21) and Saturday (August 22). The rainy trend may continue on Sunday (August 23) as well.

The Meteorological Department said the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh. As a result, rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds may continue in different parts of the country. No major change in day and night temperatures is expected.
