Stormy Winds, Thunderstorms Expected in 15 Regions Tonight

Fifteen regions across Bangladesh may experience temporary gusty winds and rain or thunderstorms by 1am tonight, with wind speeds reaching up to 60 kilometres per hour. River ports in these areas have been advised to display warning signal No. 1.

According to the weather forecast, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar may see gusty winds from the south or southeast at speeds of 45–60 kilometres per hour, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, until 9am on Tuesday, August 18, most areas of Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, along with many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds.

Moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some areas. Daytime temperatures across the country may fall by 1–2°C, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
