Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi’s latest film Awarapan 2 is making a strong impact at the box office. The film crossed the 100-crore-rupee mark worldwide within just three days of its release, becoming the highest-grossing solo film of Hashmi’s career.
According to Sacnilk, the film earned 81.75 crore rupees net in India during its first three days, with a gross collection of 98.10 crore rupees. Including international earnings, its worldwide total reached 110.10 crore rupees. The film opened with 22 crore rupees on Friday, followed by 33.75 crore rupees on Saturday and 26 crore rupees on Sunday.
Awarapan 2 is a sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan, which had a disappointing theatrical run. The new installment surpassed the original film’s lifetime collection of 7.75 crore rupees within its opening day.
The film has also broken the first-day records of several of Hashmi’s previous successful films, including Haq, Raaz 2, Ek Thi Daayan and Jannat.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film stars Emraan Hashmi alongside Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the movie is attracting strong audiences and positive word of mouth in theatres.
