China does not support any foreign interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has said.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday (July 2), Ambassador Yao reaffirmed Beijing's position, stressing that China respects Bangladesh's sovereignty and opposes external involvement in its domestic matters.
Referring to the Teesta River issue, the ambassador said China would continue to support Bangladesh, adding that other issues are not a matter of concern for Beijing.

Yao Wen also highlighted China's commitment to the Teesta Mega Project, saying that a scientific feasibility study is essential for ensuring the project's long-term sustainability. He noted that China places great importance on the feasibility assessment and is willing to assist Bangladesh throughout the process.
The ambassador said that although a Chinese company had previously signed an agreement to conduct the feasibility study, the latest arrangement has now been concluded directly between the governments of Bangladesh and China. He added that China's highest authorities have pledged technical assistance for both the Teesta Mega Project and Bangladesh's broader river management initiatives.
