A new salary structure for government employees is set to be implemented from July 1. The committee led by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani has recommended the rollout of the revised pay scale.

Following a positive response from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the committee chaired by Nasimul Ghani has scheduled another meeting on Thursday, May 21, where a final decision is expected to be made.

According to the committee’s recommendation, the new pay structure will be implemented in three phases over three fiscal years. In the first two fiscal years, employees will receive 50 percent of the revised basic salary in each phase, while allowances will be provided in the third fiscal year.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reportedly given policy-level approval to the proposal.
