A court has granted a five-day remand to Mehraj Islam, the main accused in the murder case of Prime Asia University student Zahidul Islam Parvez. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehera Mahbub issued the order on Friday (April 25).The case's investigation officer, Banani Police Station Inspector AKM Main Uddin, presented him in court on the same day and applied for a 10-day remand. The defendant's lawyer applied for the remand to be canceled. After the hearing, the judge rejected the defendant's bail and granted a five-day remand.
He was arrested from Gaibandha on Wednesday afternoon (April 23). Four people have been remanded in this much-discussed murder case, and two have confessed to the crime and given statements. A/M
