Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said lasting peace and security in the Middle East cannot be established at the direction of any outside country. He said regional countries must build trust, respect one another and resolve security issues through dialogue.
Araghchi made the remarks while joining the ‘Global Town Hall 2026’ event in Indonesia online. He warned that when powerful countries violate international law for their own interests, public trust in international institutions declines.
The Iranian foreign minister also highlighted the heavy human cost of war, saying its consequences extend far beyond the battlefield and leave ordinary people to bear the greatest losses.
He said foreign military presence or imposed decisions cannot bring peace to the Middle East. Regional countries themselves must work together to build trust, cooperation and lasting security.
