Indian Soldier Dies Eight Days After Being Set Ablaze Inside Car

An Indian Army soldier has died in Bihar after allegedly being trapped inside a car and set on fire after petrol was poured over him. Shatrughan Yadav died on Wednesday evening after spending eight days in hospital with severe burn injuries.

According to NDTV, Yadav was allegedly called to Ramgarh over a financial dispute before being locked inside a vehicle and set on fire. He was initially treated in Varanasi before being transferred to an Army hospital in Lucknow.

News of his death triggered protests in Ramgarh on Thursday (September 17). Demonstrators blocked a road at Durga Chowk for nearly five hours and gathered outside the police station, demanding strict action against those responsible.

Police said seven people have been named in the case. Three have been arrested, while four others remain at large. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the attack and the alleged role of each suspect.
